HONG KONG, 22 June 2026 − Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong (JGA) concluded yesterday on a positive note, drawing visitors from 100+ countries and regions, show organiser Informa Markets Jewellery announced. Despite ongoing challenges affecting markets worldwide, the event attracted professional buyers with focused sourcing priorities − underscoring both the industry’s resilience and the fair’s standing as Asia’s premier mid-year B2B jewellery marketplace.
Asia-based buyers attended in strong numbers, with notable increases from the Philippines (+5.6%), India (+2.16%), Thailand (+6%) and Cambodia (+52%). Key markets beyond the region were equally well represented, including Europe, North America, the Middle East, Latin America and Australia & New Zealand. China remained a significant buying force, though attendance dipped slightly due to economic conditions and evolving sourcing strategies. Collectively, the four-day event at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) welcomed nearly 24,000 unique buyers and close to 1,100 exhibitors from around 30 countries and regions.
“In spite of the external pressures facing the industry globally, JGA attracted serious buyers committed to purposeful sourcing,” said Celine Lau, Director of Jewellery Fairs at Informa Markets Jewellery. “What stood out this year was the quality of conversations happening on the floor. A number of exhibitors told us they were having fewer but more meaningful interactions − buyers who knew exactly what they needed and were ready to place orders. That’s the kind of efficient, productive business environment we aim to create.”

Knowledge seminars spark industry dialogue

JGA’s educational programme drew well-attended sessions across multiple topics, reflecting the industry’s appetite for market intelligence. Informa Markets and the Diamond Federation of Hong Kong, China Limited (DFHK) presented “Winning Strategies for Natural Diamond Jewellery in ASEAN+ Markets” while “Winning Hearts with Colour: Designing Coloured Gemstone Jewellery that Buyers Will Love” offered practical insights on creating commercially successful pieces with coloured gemstones. The Gemmological Association of Hong Kong Limited (GAHK) delivered a seminar on “Unravelling the Magical Colour-Change Effects of Gemstones.”
Additional sessions included GRS’s 30th anniversary celebration featuring the premiere of founder Dr. Adolf Peretti’s documentary film, “Adventures in the Gemstone Mines;” Taotian Group’s “E-commerce Trends & Live Selling Growth Strategies in the Jewellery Industry” and the “Japan Pearl Seminar – History, Quality and Sustainability,” which examined quality standards, market trends and sustainability initiatives in Japan’s pearl sector.
